Silverscreen Brewing

A witty take on your average brews.

Problem: Find a way to create a beer brand to compete in the already highly saturated micro brewery market. Design multiple labels and collateral for the brand.

Solution: Silverscreen Brewing is a humorous beer brand based around movies. Each beer takes its name after a famous movie quote, and is given moving genre pairings to match the tone of the beer flavoring. Each supporting aspect of the brand continues to use witty banter to carry out the same dialogue with its audience.

The Silver Screen Brewing brand was created as a concept for a school project. Every aspect is 100% my own, from the witty brand voice to the label design itself. My main concept came to me when I ordered a beer that was named “Red Zeppelin Ale.” I realized that I had just ordered a beer solely based on the fact that I liked how it was associated with music I know, so why not do the same with movies?

Early Exploration

The brand was built from concept up. Ideas such as incorporating the term “movie buff” or movie pairings took shape way before the look of the brews came to life. The first logo created was based off of the shape of a film camera lens, later on it was simplified to fit on the can.

If wine can have food pairings, why can’t beer have movie pairings? The above icons are incorporated on the back of each beer can. They depict the kind of movies that are suggested to watch while enjoying one of the Silver Screen brews.
